First seen in 1968, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat was first performed at the Colette Court School. Only 15 minutes long at this point, the audience response was such that Lloyd Webber and Rice immediately set to work adding more songs. Performances at Westminster Central Hall and St Paul's Cathedral followed, along with a recording on the Decca label. After a West End season in 1972, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat was well and truly established and its continuing success assured.

Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat is directed by Bill Kenwright, with choreography by Henry Metcalfe, designs by Sean Cavanagh, musical direction by David Steadman and lighting by Nick Richings.
